  Trial Work Period

A trial work period is permitted during each period of disability. This  trial work period operates as an incentive, permitting a disabled person to work up to nine (9) months (consecutive or non-consecutive) while receiving their disability monthly benefits. The trial work period ends with the ninth month of work in any  consecutive sixty (60) month period, or earlier if the individual's disability  ceases. In addition, the statutory period of disability will end one year after the  trial work began.  For trial work purposes, paid work is usually taken into account.
